This is an important notice about CRM software compatibility with the latest release of Microsoft Internet Explorer (Internet Explorer 8, often referred to as IE8). On Tuesday 21st April 2009 Microsoft deployed Internet Explorer 8 via the Microsoft Windows Update service. There are compatibility issues with Sage CRM, GoldMine (all versions including GoldMine Premium Edition, GoldMine Corporate Edition and GoldMine Standard Edition) and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 (please note Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is compatible with Internet Explorer 8). Before installing Internet Explorer 8, please check the information below: Sage CRM only supports the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x & 7.x. We would advise customers to use versions 6.x or 7.x only of Internet Explorer. However if your network infrastructure forces you to use Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 it is highly advisable that you run Internet Explorer in 'Compatibility Mode' to prevent any issues with CRM occurring. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x (GoldMine 6.5 and below).

My company is facing a lot of IE 7 hang issue when running MSCRM 3.0. but Microsoft vendor seems cannot provide a proper solution for this.
The error message is:
Hanging application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16915, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
Have you encounter the same problem before? How you solve it?

Hi Steve,
I’ve looked into this and we’ve not come across this same problem before. However, this is the way we would usually tackle it:
- Check you have all the latest updates for IE7 installed, and the latest updates for the version of Windows your using
- Also check you have the latest roll-ups for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 installed.
- If you’re still getting error messages, contact your Microsoft Business Partner. They should be able to dial into your system and see what the problem is. If they still can’t solve it themselves, they will be able to contact Microsoft direct to answer the problem.
Another alternative would be to move to the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM (Version 4), this should also solve the error.
